A LITTLE SIZZLE
Sesame-ginger tofu & vegetables
Golden tofu, colorful vegetables and a sweet-salty ginger glaze. An easy change of pace for a dinner with a little more sizzle.
Cook with the Hot Pot & Grill Set.
Use the included nonstick grill pan on the heating base. The pot and grill pan use the base one at a time; fit the grill pan before connecting power.
ONE SIMPLE STEP AT A TIME
Let’s make something good.
Prepare the tofu and glaze
Pat the tofu dry with a clean towel and cut it into ½-inch (1 cm) slabs. In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, maple syrup, ginger, water and sesame oil.
Cook the vegetables
With the grill pan fitted to the base, add 1 teaspoon of oil and heat according to the product instructions. Add the bell pepper and zucchini in a single layer. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, turning with a silicone or wooden utensil, until tender. Transfer to a plate.
Let the tofu turn golden
Add the remaining teaspoon of oil, then arrange the tofu in a single layer. Cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden and hot throughout. Work in batches if needed to avoid crowding.
Add a little glaze
Return the vegetables to the pan and reduce the heat. Pour in the glaze and turn the tofu and vegetables gently for about 1 minute, until lightly coated. Turn off the heat before the glaze begins to scorch.
Bring it to the table
Serve with the warm cooked rice, if using, and finish with scallion and sesame seeds. Spoon any remaining glaze over the top.
A little patience pays off
Dry tofu browns more readily. Leave the slices in place for a few minutes before turning, and cook in batches so each piece has room on the pan.
